Travel and flights

How to use
- Choose the starting time zone.
- Keep the current time or enter a date and time.
- Add the cities to compare.
How it works
Conversions use the IANA time zone database built into your browser, which knows every country's daylight saving rules and their history.
A time that does not exist (spring forward) is moved forward one hour; a repeated time (fall back) gives its first occurrence. Your cities are remembered on this device.
Tips for best results
- Untick “live” to convert a specific time.
- Countries change clocks on different dates: the gap between London and New York changes for a few weeks in March and October/November.
- The “previous day” and “next day” labels flag a date change.
- Copy the list of times to paste into an invitation.
- The “All time zones” list has every IANA zone if your city is not among the main ones.
Common problems and fixes
The time difference looks one hour off
One country is on daylight saving time and the other is not: the tool accounts for it on the chosen date.
My city is not listed
Look for your zone's reference city under “All time zones” (for example America/Chicago for US Central time).
The starting time is not mine
The starting zone is your device's zone; change it in the list if needed.
Frequently asked questions
Is daylight saving time included?
Yes, for every city, using the rules in force on the chosen date.
What is the difference between UTC and GMT?
For civil time, none in practice: UTC is the scientific reference, GMT the historical name.
How many cities can I add?
Up to 25.
Why do some zones have a 30-minute offset?
India (UTC+5:30), Iran and Nepal chose non-whole-hour offsets.
