About this tool
Start a 10-minute kitchen timer and, at the same time, a countdown to your holiday. Each countdown has its own name and color, and stays saved in your browser.
When to use it
In the kitchen
Several timers side by side: pasta, oven and sauce, each with its own name and color.
Events you're waiting for
Holiday, wedding, exam or movie release: see the days, hours and minutes left.
Classrooms and meetings
Show a timer for an exercise, speaking time or a break, visible to everyone.
How to use
- Choose a duration or a date.
- Give it a name and a color.
- Start the countdown.
How it works
Each countdown stores its end time; the time left is recalculated several times a second from the device clock, so it never drifts.
Countdowns are kept in the browser's local storage (up to 20): they are still there on your next visit. A duration timer can be restarted in one click.
Tips for best results
- Give each timer a clear name so you know which one is ringing.
- Use one color per kind of countdown (cooking, work, events).
- Keep the page open to hear the alarm.
- A countdown to a date follows your device clock: check that it is right.
Common problems and fixes
My countdowns disappeared
They are tied to this browser. Clearing site data or using private browsing removes them.
No alarm at the end
The page must be open and sound on. A countdown that ended while the page was closed does not ring when you reopen it.
The button is greyed out
The chosen date has already passed, or the duration is zero.
