Common problems and fixes
My score drops with mistakes
Only correctly placed characters count: slow down slightly to raise accuracy.
Copy and paste does not work
On purpose: the test measures typing, so pasting is blocked.
One mistake shifts all the text
Fix it with Backspace: only letters in the right place count.
Frequently asked questions
How are words per minute calculated?
Using the international standard: 5 correct characters count as one word.
What is a good typing speed?
40 WPM is average; above 60 you type faster than most professionals.
What is the difference between raw and net WPM?
Raw counts every character typed; net counts only correct ones.
How can I improve?
Type without looking at the keyboard, fingers on the home row, and aim for accuracy before speed.
