About this tool
Holidays, a shared flat, a weekend with friends: add the people and each expense with who paid it. The tool works out everyone's balance and suggests the fewest repayments so that everyone is settled up.
How to use
- Add the people.
- Add each expense, its amount and who paid.
- Read who owes whom, then copy the list.
Common problems and fixes
An expense does not involve everyone
Tick only the people concerned under “For whom?”.
There is a one-cent difference
Indivisible cents go to the first people: the total stays exact to the cent.
I want to share the group with friends
The group is kept in this browser: copy the repayment list and send it.
Frequently asked questions
How is the number of transfers reduced?
The biggest debtor repays the biggest creditor, and so on: at most one transfer fewer than the number of people.
Is my data uploaded?
No, everything stays in your browser.
Are different currencies supported?
No: convert all expenses to the same currency first.
How many people can I add?
As many as needed; it stays readable up to about twenty.
