About this tool

No coin at hand? Flip a virtual one to settle a decision, choose who goes first or pick between two options. Every flip has exactly a 50/50 chance, and your statistics build up as you go.

How to use

  1. Click “Flip the coin”.
  2. Wait for it to land.
  3. Flip as often as you like and follow the statistics.

Common problems and fixes

I got heads five times in a row

Normal: a run of 5 happens about once in 16. Chance has no memory.

The coin does not spin

Your system may have animations turned off: the result still shows.

Statistics are not 50%

Over few flips the gap is normal; it shrinks as you flip more.

Frequently asked questions

Is the result fair?

Yes, it comes from the browser's cryptographic generator: exactly 50/50.

Is a real coin fair?

Almost: a 2023 study of 350,000 flips found a slight bias (51%) towards the starting side.

Is the history kept?

Only during your visit, and never uploaded.

Can I use it for decisions?

Yes, and if you feel disappointed by the result, that tells you what you really wanted.
