About this tool

Fill in the title, description, address and share image: the tool writes the HTML to paste into the page's head section, with a preview of how it looks in Google and on social media.

When to use it

Launching a page or site

Never publish a page without a description or share image again: the full code is ready in a minute.

Improving click-through rate

The counters flag a title or description that Google is likely to cut off.

Polishing social sharing

Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and X show the image and title set by the Open Graph tags.

How to use

  1. Enter the title, description and address.
  2. Add the share image.
  3. Copy the code into the page's head section.

How it works

The tool writes the standard tags (title, description, robots, canonical, theme-color), the Open Graph tags (og:title, og:image…) and X cards (twitter:card…). Empty fields produce no tag, and special characters are escaped.

The previews mimic Google's layout and a share card; titles are cut around 60 characters and descriptions around 160. Everything happens in your browser.

Tips for best results

  • One unique title per page, with the main keyword near the start.
  • A 1200 × 630 pixel share image displays well everywhere.
  • The image address must be absolute (https://…) and publicly accessible.
  • After publishing, clear the networks' cache with their share debugging tools.
  • Use “noindex” for thank-you or test pages that should not appear in Google.

Common problems and fixes

The image doesn't show when sharing

Check that the address is a full https URL and the image isn't protected; networks keep the old version cached for days.

Google shows a different title

Google may rewrite a title that is too long or off-topic: stay under 60 characters and describe the page accurately.

Accented characters display badly

Keep the meta charset utf-8 tag at the very start of the head section.

Frequently asked questions

How long should the title tag be?

About 50 to 60 characters; beyond that Google often cuts it.

Is the meta keywords tag useful?

No, Google has ignored it for years: the tool doesn't generate it.

What is the canonical tag for?

It gives the reference address of a page reachable through several URLs, to avoid duplicate content.

Do I need Twitter tags if I have Open Graph?

X falls back to Open Graph, but twitter:card picks the card format: the tool writes both.
