About this tool

Write a letter, note or statement and download it as a PDF, without a word processor. Choose the font, size, margins and paper; lines wrap and pages are added automatically. Your draft is kept in this browser.

When to use it

Writing a letter or statement

Sworn statement, cancellation letter, power of attorney: write it here and send a clean PDF, which you can then sign with “Sign a PDF”.

Turning plain text into a document

Text copied from an email, a phone note or a .txt file becomes a readable PDF, with margins and page numbers.

Getting by without software

On a shared computer or a tablet without Word, create a PDF document in seconds.

How to use

  1. Type or paste your text, with a title if needed.
  2. Choose the font, size and margins.
  3. Click “Create the PDF” and download it.

How it works

The text is laid out by pdf-lib in your browser: each paragraph is wrapped according to the real width of the characters in the chosen font, and a new page is added when the previous one is full. The optional title is written in larger bold type.

The PDF uses the standard fonts built into every reader (Helvetica, Times, Courier): the file stays very light and looks the same everywhere. These fonts cover English and Western European languages; characters they lack are replaced.

Tips for best results

  • Leave a blank line between paragraphs to give the document room to breathe.
  • Choose Times for a formal letter, Helvetica for a modern document, Courier for code or a typewriter look.
  • A size of 11 or 12 points with 20 mm margins gives a comfortable page.
  • For richer formatting (bold in the text, lists, tables), use the “Markdown editor” and print to PDF.
  • Your draft is kept in this browser: you can close the page and come back later.

Common problems and fixes

Some characters are replaced by “?”

Standard PDF fonts contain no emojis or non-Latin scripts (Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese…). Remove those characters or use a word processor.

Text overflows or is cut off

That can't happen: lines wrap automatically. A very long word with no space (a web address) is split across lines.

I want bold or a list in the text

The tool produces plain text. For rich formatting, write in Markdown in the “Markdown editor”.

Frequently asked questions

Is my text sent to a server?

No. The PDF is created in your browser and the draft is only kept in this browser.

Are accented characters supported?

Yes, all accents of English and Western European languages, plus typographic quotes and the euro sign.

Can I add images?

No, the tool creates a text document. For images, use “Images to PDF” then “Merge PDFs”.

Is the PDF editable?

The text is selectable and copyable. To change it, edit your draft and create the PDF again.
